Traveling to Sreemangal and Madhabkundu waterfall for one day

Route : Dhaka-Sreemangal-Madhabkundu waterfall-Lauasora national forest-Madhabpur lake-Dhaka


Note: You can cover this route only when you have a private transporter like bus, car or hiece with  proper utilization of time.  Otherwise you can't balance the time and you have to divide the plan in two days. One day for madhabkundu waterfall and other is for Sreemangal where you can see Lauasora and Madhabpur lake. I'm going to say about the two plans. If you don't have a personal transporter then you have to read the whole passage of here. 


Basic introduction: Both Sreemangal, Komolganj and Borolekha are three upazila of Moulovibazar District(Sylhet division). Madhabkundu waterfall is located in Borolekha and almost 85km far away from Sreemangal. Lauasora national park/forest and Madhabpur lake is located in komolganj which is besides Sreemangal and counts as Sreemangal tour. These places are mostly known and important tourist spot in Bangladesh.

Plan 1:  When you have a private transporter- 

Phase 1: Madhabkundu waterfall 

Start the journey from Dhaka before 12 AM and thus you can reach Sreemangal before dawn. (Sreemangal is between Dhaka and Borolekha). If no need don't pass so much time here and go towards Borolekha. The waterfall is almost 85 km far away from Sreemangal. Among of this time have some breakfast anyhow/anywhere. If you want to save money, try not to take food from the tourist spot and as you have your own vehicle you can have food from anywhere by stop it. You will be Madhabkundu waterfall around 9AM. You have to collect tickets with 10tk as per head to enter the area of waterfall and 50tk to park your hiece.

The way to Madhabkundu waterfall

After entering the area you can see the beautiful way to waterfall of almost less then 1km. You've to walk through this way and can see the beauty of Madhabkundu Echo Park. Don't spend so much time to see all of this.

Madhabkundu waterfall  

Go to the waterfall, have a bath, take some photographs and back to the vehicle within 10.15AM. 

Precaution: Few people died while bathing to the waterfall in the last years that why it is restricted to go nearby to the waterfall. And the perfect time to visiting the waterfall is Rainy season.


Phase 2: Lauasora National Forest 

When you tell your mates to come back to the vehicle within 10.15 AM, definitely they will make it 10.45 AM. Don't do it. Time balance is most important to make this tour successful. And also there is nothing to spend so much time to see. As I am saying about time, if you don't follow it you can't cover the route. Anyway, After reached the vehicle - start your journey towards Sreemangal. If everything seems okay, you will be or have to be Sreemangal within 12.15-12.30PM. Have your lunch here from anywhere(I would like to suggest you to have it from Hotel Pansi.) in sreemangal and starts the journey towards Lauasora national rain forest within 1.00 PM and if so you will be thereby within 1.20PM by costing 20 minutes. 

The entrance fee to the forest is 50tk per person and 20tk for the students. Must take the student ID card. Hiece parking fee is 30tk. You don't have huge time, that why you have to see just to see it. 

Lauasora National forest is almost as usual like other echo parks in Bangladesh. And if u want to spend time here it is not enough to spend the whole day to see the gigantic forest. 

Phase 3: Madhabpur Lake 

Okay after 40 minutes later, at 2 PM start your journey towards Madhabpur lake and by costing 40 minutes within 2.40PM you will be in Madhabpur lake. Here you have to pay only 50 tk to park your hiece, nothing else. Madhabpur lake is totally a special place for the tourist.

 Personally I like it mostly. I calculate the time as you can spend more time here cause the waterfall and the echo park is as usual like others in our country but the lake is not.

The beautiful and extensive lake is surrounded by a beautiful tea garden. 

You can see huge amount of blue waterlily floating besides the edge of the whole lake. The water is fresh as to have a bath. To make a memory you can do so. Okay. 

The "Lausora National forest" and the "Madhabpur Lake" both will be closed at 5.00 PM. Now you can spend the time before the guards requested you to leave the lake area. ha ha ha. 

After finishing to see the lake while back to Dhaka you can have a cup of tea of seven layer by costing 80 tk as per cup. It is not highly tasty to take but for an experience you may. After that start your journey towards your destination.
Precaution: There are scarcity of gas for your vehicle thereby and you have to be aware about it all the time. Otherwise it may kill your precious time. The road is fine and the vehicle should move faster to cover the plan.

Plan 2:  When you don't have a private transporter-Phase 1: Day tour to Sreemangl

Starts the journey from Dhaka at night. You can go there by bus or train. From 10.00 - 12.00 PM you can have all the transporters. If you want to go there by bus you may start it from Saydabad bus stand, Dhaka by costing 250-350tk. If you want to go there by train you can do so from Komlapur Railway Station, Dhaka by costing 200tk. In the dawn you will be in Sreemangal. There you can reserve the CNG as capacity of 5 person by costing below 1200tk. Now same as above you can see Lauasora National Forest, Madhabpur lake and have tea from "Neelkantha cha cabin". In this phase you have enough time to see or feel the nature. As the consideration of time additionally you can see the "Tea Research Institute" and the gardens besides the road by stop the CNG. The driver of the CNG himself will show you everything as per your direction. At night you can back to Dhaka by bus or train. The transporter is available there. In this phase your total cost will be below 1000tk.

Phase 2: Day tour to Madhabkundu waterfall

Starts the journey from Dhaka at night as same to above. Same train or various buses are available from Dhaka to Kulaura, Moulovibazar. If train, you will be in the Kulaura station in the morning. And the cost starts from 250tk. The waterfall is almost 30 km far away from kulaura. Now you have to reserve a CNG within 300-400tk. If bus, it'll go near to borolekha which is a little far away from the waterfall. And the bus fair starts from 300tk. After reaching Borolekha you will go to the waterfall. Now you have more than enough time to see the Madhabkundu waterfall and the echo park belongs to it. In this case the total cost will be around 750tk. 

Note: Try to seat beside the window of your CNG or hiece. Because the main beauty lies beside the roads of Sreemangal from kilometer to kilometer. And if for more inquiry you can talk to me by clicking  "Fahim".
